Arg!!! Configuring Mutt, again…

I’m away on travel this week and when I’m away from home I typically use mutt to do my emailing. I had a heck of a time getting it configured properly last time. I did, however, get it working perfectly after a few days.

Fast forward a few months and I slicked my computer to install Fedora 9. I spent HOURS backing up all my data onto an external hard drive and thought I had it all. I say THOUGHT because I spent HOURS restoring my data and getting all the packages straightened out. So here I am, ready to use Mutt and what do I find? My .muttrc file is missing. Apparently it did NOT get backed up and thus not restored.

So here I go again… Rebuilding and relearning. Maybe this time I’ll take notes.
